Don’t go overdrawn without making an arrangement with your bank first! The bank will fine you, perhaps £30 or more, for each overdrawn transaction you make.

The overdraft facility
Most people can get their bank to provide them with an overdraft facility of a few hundred pounds or more, then all you have to pay for that service is about 1% interest on your overdrawn balance each month.

This interest is added to your overdraft, so make sure it doesn’t tip your balance over the agreed limit, or more hefty fines will be imposed.
And don’t rely for too long on that extra money.

Try to pay it off as quickly as possible so that you’ve always got that lifeline available if you’re ever in dire need of it again.
